Safety in the Community

Safe Neighborhood

The Council has incorporated all of its community safety programs under the title of “Safe Neighborhood.” Safe Neighborhood is designed to increase safety awareness in our schools and communities by providing educational services on a variety of topics.

The goal of this program is to provide education in order to help prevent injuries in homes, schools, neighborhoods and communities. Although injuries occur at all ages, statistics show that particular injuries are more common in young children and mature adults.

Safe Neighborhood targets childhood injuries and injuries that occur to people over the age of 65. Services help children, caretakers and adults recognize different situations that can lead to injuries, while also offering steps on how to reduce the likelihood of injury occurrence.
